Motion Picture Industry Pension & Health Plans (MPI) is seeking a temporary Residual Analyst to support our Residuals & Deposits department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
Process residual contribution reports submitted to the Plans including but not limited to electronic data and hard copies
Proofing of recorded information
Provide reports or documentation needed for a residual audit inspection
Perform initial validation of the residual reporting or documentation submitted to MPI
Provide documentation of reporting and system issues for review
Work on special projects as needed & perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Accounting background or comparable experience required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
2-3 years of experience in an accounting or finance related capacity
Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy required; strict attention to detail
Clear and effective oral and written communications skills required
Reliable and responsible; able to work with minimum supervision
Ability to multi-task to meet deadlines
A motivated self-started, well organized in handling time and materials
A flexible team player, with a positive, cooperative and helpful attitude
Able to prioritize work and follow through to completion
Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Pleasant and cooperative interpersonal skills; able to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization and other parties
Team player dedicated to honesty, integrity, respecting others with a dedication to excellence while also displaying enthusiasm and optimism on the job
Strong mathematical and problem-solving aptitude required
Able to transform complex process calculation to formula
Excellent grammar & spelling skills required
Heavy data entry skills; accurate typing and 10-key by touch
Computer literate in MS Office, i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel (formula writing preferred)
Creative enough to work around systems limitations
Excellent attendance, reliability, and punctuality required, with the ability to work overtime/extended hours as required
Ability to accept direction and developmental guidance from supervisor
Please note, this is an onsite position at our offices in Studio City, CA, which has a Covid-19 vaccine policy. This temporary contract is anticipated to last approximately 6 months and can be subject to change depending on business needs.
