The season-five premiere of TLC’s “Jon and Kate Plus 8” drew more than 9.8 million viewers Monday night, ranking as the most-watched program of the night on television, including both cable and broadcast programs. The increased attention surrounding Jon and Kate Gosselin’s marriage troubles led to the show’s highest-rated episode (9.1 rating among women 18-34, 3.6 rating among men 18-34 3.6 and a 6.3 rating among 18-34) and the highest-rated telecast in TLC’s history among all key demos. In addition to 9.8 million total viewers, the show drew 6.6 million households.
