FX Lands DreamWorks Animation Films Through 2012
Cable’s FX has made a deal to license DreamWorks Animation motion pictures including “Monsters vs. Aliens,” “Kung Fu Panda” and “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.” The deal, made with distributor Paramount Pictures, includes all DreamWorks Animation releases through 2012, which would include “Shrek Goes Fourth” and a sequel to “Kung Fu Panda.” Terms of the deal were not disclosed. “Every year DreamWorks Animation produces some of the finest films made by any studio, and we’re incredibly excited to strengthen and broaden the FX library with the addition of their titles through 2012,” FX Executive VP Chuck Saftler said in a statement. “We are thrilled to have come to this agreement with FX,” said Hal Richardson, President of Paramount Pictures Worldwide Television Distribution. “They continue to bring quality programming to television audiences and we are very pleased that DreamWorks Animation features will now be added to their stellar movie lineup.”
