“Family Court With Judge Penny” from Program Partners aims to bring familiar issues home to viewers, bringing the latest twist to the court-show genre.
The half-hour, first-run series tackles issues including domestic abuse, child custody and reckless parenting.
The series stars Judge Penny Brown Reynolds, a judge who sat on the bench in Fulton County, Georgia State Court. She got her first taste of syndication during an appearance on “Dr. Phil” in 2007.
Judge Reynolds joins two other former Fulton County court officials, Juvenile Court Judge Glenda Hatchett and Assistant District Attorney Nancy Grace, in jumping from the courtroom to the television studio.
“Everything about this production, from our cases to the set to our lead, Judge Penny, is of the highest caliber in the genre,” said “Family Court” executive producer Stephanie Drachkovitch. “We’re impressed on a daily basis with what this amazing team of court-show professionals can do.”
“Family Court” affiliates include stations from the Fox Television Stations, CBS Television Stations, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Barrington Broadcasting, Capital Broadcasting, Entravision Communications, Freedom Broadcasting, Gray Television, Granite Broadcasting, Hearst-Argyle Television, Journal, JW Broadcasting, LIN Broadcasting, Newport, New Age Media, New Vision Television, Roberts Broadcasting, Tribune Broadcasting, Weigel Broadcasting and The CW Plus groups.
“With our lineup and this production team, anchored by our talented partners, 44 Blue, we truly have all the ingredients for success this fall,” said Ritch Colbert, a partner at Program Partners. “We can’t wait to see Judge Penny on the set of ‘Family Court.’”
