There are over 700 film festivals worldwide, but only a few are devoted entirely to showing old movies -- which is odd, considering that these days, it's just as hard to see most older films in a theater as it is to see any of the new festival darlings. I'm really impressed by how consistently the Los Angeles Times has thrown itself into the battle to preserve LACMA's repertory film program. Things have moved with surprising swiftness since the museum announced the shuttering of their repertory program for financial reasons. Mark Frauenfelder at Boing Boing points out that the 1963 Francis Ford Coppola/Roger Corman slasher film "Dementia 13" is in the public domain and available for download for free from Archive.org.
