The rewards of volunteering time for a PSA production is enormous, both personally and professionally, but it is important to understand who we are and what we expect of you before you begin to work with us. The best way to understand what we do and how you can fit or lend your talents is to attend the monthly PSA Production Program general membership meetings.
VOLUNTEER FOR PRODUCTIONS All Women In Film PSA’s are produced and distributed by Women In Film Members. A fundamental principle of the program is that everyone that works on the PSA’s donates their time, talent and services. No one gets paid in dollars – only in good feelings and great experiences!
HOW IT WORKS Each year, the PSA Production Program chooses four to five charities for which they will produce a PSA. Once the charities have been chosen, they are each assigned a start date for the following year, based on the availability of the PSA Production Program’s resources and schedule.
BECOME PART OF THE CREATIVE TEAM For each PSA, the Business Affairs Committee selects a Producer & Director, who will then help complete their team by securing a Writer, Production Manager, Production Designer, and Director of Photography, Associate Producer etc., which allows them to carry out the production process.
The Creative Team is responsible for all aspects of the PSA campaign, from approval of the PSA through development, production, post-production, and distribution. In order to ensure that our development guidelines and procedures are followed, each Creative Team is also assigned an Executive Producer by the Business Affairs Committee. The filming of the WIF PSAs is scheduled over a weekend period.
